Mat Sinner con i suoi progetti è garanzia di ottima musica da oltre vent'anni, una vera e propria istituzione nell'ambito hard'n'heavy teutonico.
Siamo qui ad acclamare la nuova fatica della sua band rinnovata e più carica che mai: “Crash & Burn”, già il titolo è tutto un programma!
L'atmosfera ricreata è adrenalinica e incalzante, 11 tracce che spingono sull'acceleratore, melodiche, vibranti e potenti quanto basta per impressionare l'ascoltatore.
Quest'album sarà certamente un must-have per gli amanti dell'old school, ma anche una valida sorpresa per tutti gli estimatori della musica suonata col cuore, lo stesso cuore alato che si trova sulla copertina del cd, quasi come dichiarazione programmatica dei più puri intenti rock!
In primo piano la pregevole voce di Mat, calda, avvolgente e spessa, supportata dalle splendide chitarre dei due axe man Leim e Wolter, armonizzate, ammalianti così perfette che quasi commuovono.
Il mood generale ricorda molto i nostri beneamati Saxon, Iron Maiden e Scorpions, con una bella dose di appeal e patina moderna, indispensabile per dare vita ad un progetto al passo con i tempi, ma egualmente emozionante come un tuffo negli anni d'oro dell'hard'n'heavy.
Tra le altre si stagliano, oltre alla operer track le emozionanti “Revolution”,“Break the silence”, “Connection” dotate di ritornelli magnetici grazie a cori accentuati, semplicemente irresistibili.
E' davvero venuto il momento di indossare nuovamente il chiodo (sempre che qualcuno di voi l'abbia già smesso), scompigliare la chioma e cimentarsi in un appassionato esercizio di air guitar davanti allo specchio sulle note di “Crash & Burn”!
Hard'n'heavy sano, libero, puro come non mai, vi farà stare bene, provate.

Mat Sinner with his musical projects has been a guarantee of good music for more than twenty years, he really is an institution in the teutonic hard'n'heavy scene.
We are here to acclaim his last labour, achieved with his rinnovated and wilder than ever band: we are talking about “Crash & Burn”, the title needs an explanation!
The atmosphere is adrenalinic and chasing, 11 tracks that push the accelerator to his limits, so melodic, vibrant, and powerful that they remain in the head of the listener from the first time.
This album will surely be a must-have for old school's lovers, but even for everybody that appreciate good music played with the heart, the same winged heart that is on the cd's cover, as a programmatic declaration of the purest rock wills!
First of all there is Mat's voice, hot, charming and thick, supported by the fabulous guitars of the two axe man Leim and Wolter, harmonized, fascinating and so perfect that I'm nearly crying...
The general mood recalls our beloved Saxon, Iron Maiden and Scorpions, with a good deal of modern appeal, essential to create a project of great interest but as exciting as a leap into the past.
Among the others the opener track, “Revolution”, “Break the silence” and “Connection” need a particular mention, with their magnetic choruses, simply moving.
Now the time has come to wear our leather jacket (only if somebody has already stopped to wear it!!) , ruffle our hairs and play some air guitar in front of the mirror, singing on the notes of “Crash & Burn”!

1.Cari Sinner, presentate la vostra band al pubblico di Alone Music, e ricordate ai lettori i momenti più interessanti della vostra brillante carriera.

Ciao bella gente @ Alone Music! Sono Christof Leim, suono la chitarra in una band tedesca, i Sinner, che è in giro da circa 20 anni ormai, e non ha la minima intenzione di mollare, anche perché il nostro ultimo album “Crash & Burn” è uno dei pezzi forti del nostro catalogo, anche secondo il frontman Mat Sinner (voce-basso). E’ la sua band e perciò dovete chiedere a lui i momenti salienti e più divertenti della carriera della band, dal momento che li ha visti e vissuti tutti quanti in prima persona!

2.Come descriveresti la musica dei Sinner e cosa pensate di comunicare?

Rock baby. In tutte le sue forme. Tutto è iniziato con un melodic metal teutonico, trasformato secondo lo stile americano hard rock, modificato successivamente secondo lo stile europeo virtuoso negli anni 90, scuritosi ulteriormente all’inizio degli anni ‘00, e ora stabilizzatosi nella formula groove e divertimento. Insomma Heavy Rock ‘n’Roll con sprazzi Metal, per capirci.
E dovrebbe semplicemente comunicare il divertimento del Rock!

3.Richiamate velocemente le vostre influenze e gli artisti che vi hanno ispirato come band.

Ce ne sono un’infinità! I più palesi sono Thin Lizzy, Accept, Van Halen, AC/DC…quelli fighi. Ma vi sorprendereste se deste un’occhiata alla nostra collezione di dischi!

4.Passiamo ai membri della band: come sono composti i Sinner? Qualcuno di voi suona anche in altre band, e se sì, quali?

Facciamo questo mestiere da un bel po’, quindi ovviamente ci sono state e ci sono tutt’ora molte band in cui abbiamo militato; accenniamo più che altro a quelle di cui facciamo parte al momento:

5.Presentate il vostro album!

“Crash & Burn” è il primo album con questa line up, la stessa line up che ha sostenuto il tour Mask of Sanity e ha girato un bel po’. Il disco è uscito il 24/7, davvero una bella esperienza, potete ascoltarlo!

6.Come avete creato le canzoni del vostro album? Parliamo del processo compositivo e delle sue fasi.

Il progetto principale era: facciamo un disco Rock. Non metal, no grandi orchestre. Rock. E così abbiamo fatto. Le cose che proponevo io non andavano bene, erano troppo heavy e così sono andate all’altra mia band. Anche Klaus ha scritto diverse cose, ma alla fine non sono state concretizzate nell’ album. Il che non è stato affatto un problema per nessuno dei due, dato che Mat e Henry avevano già un sacco di idee geniali, e inoltre Mat si è avvalso anche dell’aiuto compositivo di altri suoi amici come U.D.O. e Allen/Lande. Le canzoni sono state registrate rapidamente, per tenerle fresche, come speriamo che suoni il risultato finale!

7.Chi scrive i testi e di che cosa trattano?

8.Dove è possibile comprare il vostro cd? E perché i lettori lo dovrebbero comprare? Un po’ di promozione dei Sinner!

Si può acquistare in ogni buon negozio di dischi e ovviamente anche su Amazon, eBay, Itunes ecc…
Se vi piace il rock’n’roll in linea coi lavori di Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, Accept, e artisti del genere allora con tutta probabilità gradirete anche “Crash & Burn”.

9.I Sinner sono anche una brillante live band, dove possiamo vedervi dal vivo? Quanto importante è per la vostra vita di musicisti questo aspetto?

Abbiamo fatto un tour a Novembre (passando anche per l’Italia) con Ross The Boss. E’ stato divertente. Ma dato che i Primal Fear sono così impegnati, non suoneremo in festival quest’estate. Ma suonare dal vivo è molto importante per vari motivi, ed è fondamentalmente la quintessenza dell’essere musicista. Io lo amo!

10. Come giudicate la scena metal in Germania? Ci sono dei club validi?

Qui il metal sicuramente non è morto. Ce ne sono di locali fighi, tanti, ma non ce ne sono mai troppi, ce ne potrebbero essere di più.

11. Quali sono i prossimi progetti dei Sinner? (breve e lungo termine).

Promuovere un po’ il disco di supporto ai Primal Fear in Sud America. Ed un nuovo album di sicuro in futuro!

12. Volete dire qualcosa ai lettori di Alone Music?

Certo, ricordatevi sempre una cosa: una buona canzone è una buona canzone indipendentemente dalla scena, da ciò che rappresenta, da come suona, e da chi la sente: una buona canzone sarà sempre una buona canzone!

13.Una notizia dell’ultimo istante?

Sud America in Agosto!!!

1.Dear Sinner, can you please introduce your band to the public of Alone Music, and remember to everybody the most interesting moments of your brilliant career so far?
 Hi there, beautiful people at Alone Music! My name is Christof Leim, I play guitar in a German band called Sinner that has been around for 20+ years and is refusing to go away. For good reason: “Crash & Burn” is one of the highlights of our catalogue, according to main man Mat Sinner (vocals/bass). And he should know, it’s his band! And that’s the reason you should ask him about the most interesting moments, because he has seen them all…  
2.How would you describe the music of Sinner yourself, and what do you think to communicate with it?
Rock, baby. In all it’s forms. It started with German Melodic Metal, turned into American style radio hard rock, turned european and virtuosic again in the nineties, got darker at the beginning of the ‘00s and is now firmly back in the “Geez, it’s all about the fun of it” vibe. Heavy Rock’n’Roll with Metal overtones, if that makes sense. And this should communicate the FUN OF IT.
 3.Can you please recall your influences, and the artists that have inspired your band?
 There are a billion! The obvious ones are Thin Lizzy, Accept, Van Halen, AC/DC…the good stuff. But you would be surprised if you looked into our collection.
 4.Now the bandmembers:  how is Sinner composed? Did any of the bandmembers play in other bands apart from Sinner, and if yes, can you name them?
 We have been doing this for a while, so there are and have been a lot of other bands. So let’s stick to the ones we are in right now:

 5.Let’s introduce your last album!
 Crash & Burn - the first with this line-up, the line-up that has toured behind “Mask Of Sanity” and got along great. The recording was an enjoyable experience 24/7, and you can hear it!
 6.Can you tell us how you’ve created the songs/ideas for your  album? Please tell us about your writing process and its different stages.
 The masterplan was: Let’s write a ROCK album. Not metal, not big orchestras. ROCK. And so we did. My stuff didn’t fit, was too heavy and went to my other band, Klaus’ also wrote, but it didn’t end up on the album. Which was no problem for the two of us, since Mat and Henny had a bunch of great ideas, and Mat also wrote with some of his friends from U.D.O. or Allen/Lande. The songs were demoed and recorded rather quickly. And that kept ‘em fresh, I hope.
 7. Who writes the lyrics and what are they about?

 8. Where can people buy your CD? And why should people buy it? Please promote here Sinner for free!!
 In every good store, and surely on Amazon, eBay, iTunes etc. Why? If you like rock’n’roll along the lines of Thin Lizzy, Motörhead, Accept and some other stuff, and if you like cool guitar work, you might like “Crash & Burn”.
 9. Sinner is an amazing live band too, where can we see you playing on stage? How much is this part of the life of a musician important for your band?
 We played a tour in Nov (also in Italy) with Ross The Boss. That was fun. But since Primal Fear is so busy, we’re not playing any festivals this summer. But playing live is important for several reasons, and it’s actually the quintessence of being a musician. I LOVE it.
 10.What is the metal scene like in Germany, where you come from? Are there any good clubs to play live?
 
Metal is surely not dead here. Good clubs? Yep, too many to list, but probably not enough…
 11.What are the future plans for Sinner (on the short and long term, please)?
 Short term: Play some more for “Crash & Burn” - e.g. supporting Primal Fear in South America.
Long term: New album for SURE!
 12. Do you have any personal messages for Alone Music readers?
 Yep. Always remember one thing: “It’s not what music stands for or what scene it belongs to or who listens to it, it’s what it sounds like. A good song is a good song is a good song.”
